Ethiopian Holidays are glamorous taking you through the exotic destinations of Ethiopia, package travel from one end to another, the historical route of Northern Classical sightseeing’s, located on the great High land of Ethiopia with its stunning Landscape. The origin of Ethiopia is largely the origin of all of us since many of the most ancient hominids were here discovered. Ethiopia is home to the most ancient kingdom in Africa, one of the first monarchies in the world and it is the sole African country to possess and alphabet more than 2,000 years old. By maintaining independence in the face of European colonizers, Ethiopia preserves today its full culture and historical richness.

From the Red Sea to the Kenyan Lake Turkana, Ethiopia is home to a large portion of the Rift Valley which forms the Danakil Depression on the north of the country and then a chain of fantastic lakes that provide the ideal habitat for an exuberant variety of flora and fauna. After crossing the Rift Valley, the South Omo Valley will surprise you with stunning landscape and cultural diversity of more than a dozen tribes sharing the same limited space. This route is an excellent combination of Historic, culture and nature.

Itinerary

Day 1Arrival - meet your guide transfer to your reserved hotel.

Up on arrival meet your guide and transfer to your reserved hotel. Then start city tour in Addis Ababa, by visiting National Museum, Mercato, Holy trinity cathedral and Mount Entoto.

Day 2Fly to Bahir Dar

Fly to Bahir Dar. After lunch boat trip on Lake Tana to visit Ura Kidane Mihret monastery which is dating back to 14th century.

Day 3Excursion to one of the most spectacular water falls in Africa

Excursion to one of the most spectacular water falls in Africa, the Blue Nile Falls. Then drive to Gondar.

Day 4Visit the 17th century castles and palaces of Gondar

Visit the 17th century castles and palaces of Gondar. Finally, you’ll visit the fantastically decorated church of Debrebirhan Selasse and Bath of Emperor Fasiledes. Then drive to Simien Mountain National Park. Walk through the park and meet some Endemic mammals and Birds.

Day 5Drive to Axum through the spectacular landscape of Simien Mountain

Drive to Axum through the spectacular landscape of Simien Mountain chains and Tekeze gorge.

Day 6Visit the stele or obelisks of Axum

Visit the stele or obelisks of Axum, the largest single piece of stone standing anywhere in the world, castles of former monarchs, Mariam Tsion church, built on the site of Ethiopia’s first church and a palace of Queen Sheba, King Ezana’s inscriptions and tomb of King Kaleb and Gabremeskel.

Day 7Drive to the smoking mountain / Erta-Ale

Drive to the smoking mountain / Erta-Ale. It is one of the main attractions of the Danakil Depression, and it is one of the few volcanoes in the world that has almost persistent lava lake.

Day 8After breakfast drive to Ahmedella through Afar Valley

After breakfast drive to Ahmedella through Afar Valley. Late afternoon we will meet camel caravans.

Day 9,Excursion to Dallol to visit one of the hottest and the most inhospitable place on Earth the Danakil Depression

Excursion to Dallol to visit one of the hottest and the most inhospitable place on Earth the Danakil Depression. It is one of the lowest points in the world (-116m below sea level). Then drive to Mekelle.

Day 10Drive to Lalibela through the spectacular landscapes of Tigrai and lasta mountains.

Drive to Lalibela through the spectacular landscapes of Tigrai and lasta mountains. On the way visit one of the typical villages of Amhara.

Day 11Visit the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela,

Visit the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, which is divided in to two clusters Northwestern and Southeastern Cluster. Finally, you will visit the most famous of all the churches – Bete Giyorgis (which is considered as the eighth wonder of the world). Cooking class at one of Ethiopian family.

Day 12After breakfast fly to Jinka via Addis and visit Ari Village

After breakfast fly to Jinka via Addis and visit Ari Village. Ari villages have neat compounds, fertile and scenic land with coffee plantations. Ari have large livestock herds and produce large quantities of honey.

Day 13Take excursion in Mago National park and visit Mursi village

Take excursion in Mago National park and visit Mursi village. After lunch drive to Turmi, on the way visit Karo tribes and their unique body painting.

Day 14Drive to omorate and visit Dasanach tribes

Drive to omorate and visit Dasanach tribes. Then drive to konso. The Konso are a rich agrarian culture. They construct ingenious terraces and walls that encircle their fields and villages for protection against livestock damage and flooding.

Day 15After breakfast drive to Arbaminch

After breakfast drive to Arbaminch. Then Boat ride over Lake Chamo to visit Crocodiles and Hippos. Cross the lake and game walk in Nechisar National park to meet Zebras.

Day 16Drive to Dorze village

Drive to Dorze village. The Dorze people are famous for their beehive-shaped bamboo houses and products produced from the Enset plant (False Banana Tree). The village located on the top of Mount Chencha. Then drive back to Arbaminch.

Day 17After breakfast drive to Bale mountain national park through the southeast part of the country

After breakfast drive to Bale mountain national park through the southeast part of the country, where fertile land is cultivated by the Oromo people. Game walk in Dinsho park to meet some endemic mammals

Day 18Excursion to the mystical Harena Forest and the Senatti Plateau

Excursion to the mystical Harena Forest and the Senatti Plateau. Trek to the second highest mountain in Ethiopia, Tulu Dimtu (4377m). Then drive to Awassa.

Day 19,Visit the very famous Fish Market

Visit the very famous Fish Market where the fishes are sold and cooked in a very traditional way. Then drive to Awash and game walk in Awash national park to meet some endemic mammals and Birds.

Day 20After breakfast drive to Harar and visit the walled city of Harar

After breakfast drive to Harar and visit the walled city of Harar. With its colorful markets, countless mosques and shrines, and unique Harari people and traditional basket production of the Hadare people, well decorated houses. In the evening visit the Hyena feeding man show.

Day 21Drive to Dire dawa and visit the old train station.

Drive to Dire dawa and visit the old train station. Then fly back to Addis Abeba. Farewell dinner at traditional restaurant with folklorist dance. Then transfer out to Bole international Airport for your international flight.
